About Kelly

My name is Kelly North, and I am a licensed therapist in the states of Nevada and Pennsylvania. I believe anyone is capable of change if they have the desire and motivation. I meet people where they are and walk alongside them to where they want to be.

I started my career as a Youth Life Skills Mentor. Through my work, I noticed how people carry their trauma like invisible suitcases. I learned the importance of safety, security, and belonging to help us unpack those suitcases to make room for positive experiences.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process. You want someone to understand you, and I seek to understand. My role is not to tell you how to live your life, but to provide a gentle push to get you where you want to be.

I use an integrative therapeutic approach that incorporates the latest research-proven approaches that best fit your needs.

I am a life-long learner and dedicated to staying up to date on evidence-based practices. I had the pleasure of completing a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction training program. I also recently completed the Acceptance Commitment Therapy "Live Better Series," presented by Dr. Tom Lavin and Dr. Steven Hayes, author of Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Life.

Read more about the evidence-based practices I use below.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a highly effective method of improving mental health. CBT offers insights into thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It allows us to explore unhelpful thought patterns and build skills to bring more balance to our lives.

Acceptance-Commitment Therapy

Acceptance-Commitment Therapy teaches us how to accept that pain is inevitable- but so is joy. ACT helps to identify values, commit to change, and lead a vital and meaningful life. It allows us to grow in wisdom and look at things differently.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

Mindfulness means maintaining awareness of the present moment with an open, nonjudgmental mind. MBSR uses a blend of meditation, body awareness, and mindful movement. MBSR can help us learn how our body reacts to stress and develop ways to cope with the challenges of everyday life.

Together we can create the change you seek to live your life to the fullest potential.
